Fashion meets Interior

The popularity of highly contrasting structures and colours has peaked. Consumers are returning to harmonious, friendly, and most above all light coloured furniture and fittings. Fashionable colours like magnolia, champagne, or camel hair are experiencing a renaissance and have become firmly established in the world of lifestyle living at the same time. Interiors are becoming brighter and lighter, and they convey a sense of open space.

Bausch Decor: Versatile woodgrain decors, a broad colour palette and variability in use – a decor programme for flexibility in interior furnishings

Even if distinct trends in any one direction cannot be discerned at present, there is clearly a leaning towards diversity. In the 'retreat to the private sphere', two tendencies are noticeable in this respect, ranging in extreme from concentration on the essential to Baroque opulence, from accomplished mixes of plastic, glass, metal, stone and other materials to visualised sustainability in the form of a preference for wood, from elegant, muted colours to vivid optimistic hues such as orange, red and violet. A demand for quality is also making itself felt. In woodgrains and finishes, anything goes – whether pale or dark, straight-grained or figured, pronounced or filigree in structure, matte or gloss.

Showing in line with white, grey and black trend

In Bausch Decor's opinion, the white trend will continue unabated in 2008, and will thus be playing an important role at the decor paper printer's showing at the ZOW 2008. As the decor paper printer observes, the hue, which began to catch on in the fashion and car industry as an accent colour, has now found favour in both the furniture industry and among consumers, and is presumably gaining in momentum and significance as a countertrend reaction to the loud, flashy colours of the media world.
